Job Description
Application Operations administrators are responsible for managing the internal deployment of the IBM Rational products within the Rational brand.  The Admins work with geographically dispersed release engineering and software development teams to support and sustain productivity levels by troubleshooting and resolving application user problems 24x7.  Additionally the Admins are responsible for deploying pre-release software and providing feedback to the developers for the purpose of improving product quality.  The Admins are also responsible for the set-up and deployment of complex product integrations within the Rational production environment.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
1.Ensure steady-state operation of all supported application production servers within the Rational environment.
2.Work with product development to deploy and monitor pre-release bits on select production servers, as part of an in-house deployment program aimed at improving product quality.
3.Develop standard operating procedures and other documentation for all operational activities.
4.Work with Engineering Services infrastructure team to ensure that production server hardware is performing optimally.  Make recommendations for hardware replacements as required.
5.Monitor and audit data backups to ensure integrity of mission critical data.
6.Resolve customer issues submitted via problem tickets and provide training and education to end users as needed.
7.Work with release engineering to resolve all problems that may impact product build schedules.
8.Work with and provide guidance to other teams wanting to deploy Rational products.
9.Work on specific projects to improve operational efficiency.
